Students in the master’s program will learn the techniques and habits used by publishing writers. The program includes both practical (workshopping) classes and a class which explores theoretical bases for creative writing. The faculty members are widely published; their work ranges from books for young adults to those written for an L.D.S. audience, from poetry and creative nonfiction to novels. We encourage students and provide training and direction as students write a polished thesis with the potential for eventual publication. Students may focus on a single genre or a combination of the following genres: creative nonfiction, fiction, and poetry.
