Letters of application usually accompany resumes. The purpose of these documents is to help you obtain a job interview.
Research the company and job for which you’re applying so you can show the employer that you are capable of meeting his or her specific expectations.
Maintain a balance between showing your qualifications for the position and communicating your ability and willingness to learn from your employer and the job.
Make the letter personal—something that only you could compose. Make sure it is you applying for the job, not some fabricated model or ideal.
Avoid cliches, generalities, etc.
Do not flatter the employer or yourself.
Letters must be error free.
